With more than 15 years of extensive research, practical experience, and multidisciplinary collaboration, Malô provides strategic and technical advisory services designed to foster sustainable development from farm to fork.
Our name, Malô, means "rice" in Bambara, reflecting our deep cultural roots and regional focus. Malô SARL earned recognition, securing over $375,000 from international business competitions and fellowship awards and introduced rice fortification to Mali. Under their leadership, Malô collaborated closely with international organizations such as PATH, GAIN, and WFP, improving nutrition for over 115,000 schoolchildren.
Malô’s founders operate an agribusiness consultancy serving diverse clients across Mali, Sénégal, and Côte d’Ivoire as well as a precision farming company that integrates solar energy, drip irrigation, and greenhouse technology to produce high-quality fruits and vegetables.
Salif Niang transitioned from academia to social entrepreneurship in 2011, leaving his Ph.D. program in International Relations at Purdue University after his research highlighted how factors such as infant mortality, education, and youth employment directly influence a country's democratic stability, economic prosperity, and political security. His impactful work has been recognized by prominent institutions including Echoing Green, the Aspen Institute, Brookings Institution, and the Clinton Global Initiative. Salif has further expanded his expertise through consulting roles as an agribusiness specialist for the World Bank Group. Fluent in English, French, and Bambara, Salif combines strong communication and partnership-building skills with deep analytical, regulatory, and technical expertise in agribusiness strategy, financial modeling, market analysis, and mixed-method research across cereals, vegetable, and livestock value chains in West Africa.
Mohamed Ali Niang holds a Master's Degree in International Organizational Management from the Centre d’Etude Franco-Américain de Management in Lyon, France, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and International Business from Temple University. Recipient of the Diamond Award from Temple University, Mohamed has also earned fellowships and awards from Echoing Green, INK, the Sol Tutelman Memorial, and the Halloran Prize. As a versatile, trilingual professional (French, English, Bambara), Mohamed brings over nine years in business consulting and more than thirteen years managing SMEs and social enterprises. His expertise includes financial analysis, market research, business modeling, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact assessments. Mohamed has led projects funded by international organizations including USAID, GIZ, World Bank Group, Save the Children, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
